Voices of Passion is a virtual instrument designed to use vocal samples of alto and soprano female singers from Wales, Syria, India, Bulgaria, and America to add an extra element to you mix. It includes ethereal, passionate, flowing, mysterious, wailing, and whispering vocals for film, TV, and game composers as well as songwriters, new age artists, and zen horticulturists. Note these voices aren’t meant to replace a live singer in your studio, but rather enhance the musical atmosphere you’ve created.

Voices of Passion features 5 stunning female artists singing vowels, words, morphing vowels, effects, phrases, calls, whispers, and breath noises. This virtual instrument/sample library was created specifically for use in the film/TV/game genre as well as music with ambient or new age music. All the singers were recorded with a Telefunken Elam 251 and a RCA 44 ribbon mic for tonal variation.

The collection features true legato intervals (American and Wales only), and the Middle Eastern and Indian phrases are presented in a construction kit format allowing you to create very long, consistent performances. There’s even a mod-wheel to control the entry point on ethnic phrases.

PLAY Powered by EastWest’s PLAY 64-bit (and 32-bit) Advanced Sample Engine with built-in Network Control (plug-in or standalone), this virtual instrument combines intuitive handling with excellent sound quality, and functions as a plug-in instrument, without the need for a sampler. It includes impulses from the same hall the producers used to record Symphonic Orchestra and Symphonic Choirs so the pianos can blend smoothly with those collections.

Load more thanks to 64-bit support
64-bit support allows you to load many more instruments and voices, limited only by your system RAM (32-bit support is included also) While most high-end computers will support 16GB, a very small set of high-performance enterprise computers (with Microsoft Vista Ultimate) can already use 128GB of RAM. As hardware develops, the theoretical limit is 17,179,869,184 gigabytes = 16 exabytes, or 17 billion gigabytes.

Networking Support
If you still need more power, the built-in NETWORK CONTROL allows you to load instruments on other machines controlled from your host computer. This means no more trips back and forth between computers, or KVM switching when loading projects. This also means there’s no need to buy additional software. The PLAY system is a professional, fully integrated solution for those with the most demanding production requirements.

All instruments are listed in one browser
The easy-to-use browser displays all of your instruments with a Favorites section to group the instruments you use most, and a way to preview your instrument of choice in an easy-to-use column viewer. Load instruments into one instance to take advantage of your sequencer’s instrument tracks, or several if you so desire. The interface automatically changes to display current instrument.

Articulations
Forget browsing through complicated patch names: pick the instrument and play, and turn on/off articulations as you wish. The Articulations list also serves as reference for all expressions within the instrument (no need to look up key-switches in charts). You can save your favorite configuration for quick retrieval.

Legato Detection
PLAY senses legato and repetitive playing and responds accordingly.

Stereo Handling
PLAY allows the user to manipulate stereo samples in very useful ways. Stereo Swap allows the user to instantly swap the left and right channels. Mono from left, Mono from right, or Mono Sum allow for instant conversion from stereo to mono.

Mic Mixer
Control all mic positions for the orchestra, choirs, pianos, and other instruments with multiple mic positions with the built-in mic mixer. You can now do it right in the patch. Load, unload, adjust, pan, mute mic positions as you wish. Simply pick your instrument, and PLAY.

Effects Engine
This great sounding, powerful effects engine was built from the ground up for the highest possible quality. The Reverb section includes multiple impulse responses from halls, and the famous EASTWEST studios and live chambers (more RIAA certified Platinum and Gold records awarded than any other studio). It also provides some of the smoothest filters you’ll ever hear, and specialized effects, including the first Artificial Double Tracking (ADT) software available.

Playback Engine
The high-quality resampling engine was built from the ground up to create the most intuitive instruments possible. It allowed the engineers design instruments every step of the way without compromise.

The MOTU Symphonic Instrument is a simple-to-use plug-in instrument that contains everything you need to compose complete orchestral recordings and productions. From solo instruments and small ensembles to full orchestral masterpieces, the MOTU Symphonic Instrument delivers.

Start with a massive 8GB library of brand new sounds from world class orchestras and musicians, recorded with pristine audio fidelity and careful attention to detail. Quality and variety abound. Now add a simple, easy to understand, single-window interface to personalize your instruments. Adjust your sound quickly and intuitively.

To further enhance the stunning realism of your compositions, the MOTU Symphonic Instrument includes a built-in convolution reverb processor to produce the most realistic room ambiences available. Use authentic acoustic spaces, from orchestra sound stages to renowned concert halls to majestic cathedrals.

The MOTU Symphonic Instrument is a CPU-efficient plug-in that saves with your host application document for instant recall. Nothing could be easier!

The MOTU Symphonic Instrument is compatible with all major plug-in formats for Macintosh OS X and Windows (VST, Audio Units, DXi, MAS and RTAS).

The MOTU Symphonic Instrument provides over 8GB of world-class orchestral instrument sounds. The library includes a wide variety of musical instruments organized into soundbanks.

Brass ensemble
The Brass Ensemble bank provides unison performances of the various orchestra brass sections, including French horns, trombones and trumpets. These presets provide the sound of the entire section playing the same notes in unison. Both staccato and sustained variations are provided. For each instrument (French Horns, Trombones and Trumpets), two different sections of four players each were recorded in order to provide a more broad variety of sounds. For the French Horns, an additional section of eight players was recorded for that big Hollywood orchestra French Horn sound.

Brass solo
The Brass Solo bank provides individual brass instruments playing on their own by world class virtuoso instrumentalists.

Classical Guitar
Two very different classical guitars are provided. Classical Guitar 1 is a custom made instrument played with finger and nail. It can be used for a variety of classical guitar styles. With its more organic sound, it is well-suited for the Spanish/gypsy style. Classical Guitar 2 is more appropriate for contemporary classical styles. Both presets provide a variety of playing techniques, in addition to the normal plucked single string.

Harp
Two different harp instruments, each with a distinctly unique sound, are provided. Harp 1 is soft and emotional, a truly unique sound. Harp 2 has a more bright, conventional sound suitable for a wide variety of musical styles. In addition, a variety of playing styles are provided, including single plucked notes, glissandos, cascades and chords.

Historical instruments
One of the most unique soundbanks included with the MOTU Symphonic Instrument, the historical instruments can add an extra level of authenticity to your classical compositions and recordings. Of particular interest are the extensive harpsichord presets, one of the most extensive harpsichord sample collections ever created. A wide variety of harpsichords were carefully multi-sampled, and many presets even include the authentic, mechanical sound made by these virtual instruments when releasing each note.

Mallet
The Mallet presets provide notes played individually for a variety of mallet instruments, as well as a number of glissando effects. Shieldmayer and Mustel instruments were recorded under the very best conditions to achieve an extremely clean and detailed sound.

Percussion
The percussion bank provides a comprehensive and memory-efficient collection of orchestra percussion instruments, including several different types of gongs and timpanies. The Basic Percussions menu preset provides a wide variety of orchestra percussion sounds, each assigned to a different key across the keyboard.

Pianos
Two beautiful concert grand pianos are provided: A Yamaha C7 and a Steinway D. These piano recordings represent state-of-the-art piano sampling, both in terms of the quality of the sound and the efficient use of memory.

Pipe organs
The pipe organs are organized into two major categories: Baroque (chamber) organs and Romantic (cathedral) organs. A wide variety of baroque organ sounds are provided, each with a variety of stop configurations. These instruments were recorded in European churches and preserve the sound of the acoustics of the church in addition to the sound of the instrument itself. The romantic organs are larger cathedral organs recorded across Europe. These instruments provide organ sounds on a more grand scale and sound especially authentic with the cathedral reverb settings.

Saxophones
Due to its relative youth as a musical instrument, compared to its classical instrument bretheren, the Saxophone was not used in the classical music repertoire. However, contemporary classical music adopted the saxophone as its popularity grew in the 20th century. Therefore, it has been included in the MOTU Symphonic Instrument library to provide complete instrumentation, even for contemporary classical repertoire.

Strings Ensemble
The String Ensemble bank provides unison performances of the various orchestra string sections, including violins, violas, celli and basses. These presets provide the sound of the entire section playing the same notes in unison. A variety of playing styles and techniques are provided. In addition, these recordings were made with each section placed in its proper position on stage. Therefore, when combined, they are spread across the stereo field in a manner that is true to their actual position on stage.

Strings Solo
The Strings Solo bank provides individual string instruments in a variety of playing techniques. In addition, they were recorded in mono to provide the most authentic sound.

Tutti Orchestra
Tutti is a conventional musical term used to describe the sound of multiple instruments all playing the same notes in unison. The Orchestra bank provides tutti ensemble performances for brass, strings and the entire orchestra playing together. These presets sound big and, when employed judiciously in a musical score, can be used effectively for emphasis. Several string quartet presets provide a nice intermediate sound between the solo strings and the full strings (and full orchestra). The Orchestra Run and Orchestra Tremolo presets are exceptional.

Voices
Recorded in Moscow and in Europe, the Voices soundbank contains an exclusive and extensive library of human choirs. Male, female and children’s choirs are supplied with a variety of vowel sounds, including ah (as in the word all), eh (as in the word every), ih (as in the word if) and oh (as in the word old). Both male and female soloist voices are included.

Woodwinds Ensemble
The Woodwinds Ensemble bank provides unison performances of the various orchestra woodwind sections, including clarinets, flutes and oboes. These presets provide the sound of the entire section playing the same notes in unison. Both sustained and staccato playing styles are provided. The clarinet and oboe sections consist of three players each, while the flute presets consist of two different sections of four players each.

Woodwinds Solo
The Woodwinds Solo bank provides individual woodwind instruments in a variety of playing techniques. Again, the solo instruments here were recorded in mono to provide the most authentic sound.

The Miroslav Philharmonik Classik Edition Module is a full-featured orchestral instrument covering solo instruments and ensembles with 250 sounds spanning the entire orchestra within 1.5GB of samples. Based on the original Miroslav Vitous Symphonic Orchestra sample collection, Miroslav Philharmonik Classik has a musicality and playability rarely found in other orchestral sample collections. In this collection, Miroslav Vitous has accurately captured the depth, beauty, feeling, and emotions of the real players. Sampled in the Dvor k Symphony Hall (one of the best sounding halls in the world) with true spatial positioning, the sounds fit together when layering or multitracking. This Education Edition brings to you a complete and beautiful sounding orchestral product at a price that is a fraction of the cost of the original Miroslav Vitous Symphonic Orchestra sample collection, but with the same acoustic quality and realism.

Miroslav’s sounds have a musicality and playability rarely found in orchestral sample collections. A highly accomplished musician (one of the founding members of the band Weather Report), Miroslav knew how to bring the most musical aspects of the instruments and players together for this special sample collection. Because he sampled the orchestral ensembles in their correct spatial acoustic positioning within the Dvor k Symphony Hall in Prague the sounds gel perfectly like a high-quality classical music recording.

Miroslav’s orchestral samples have an inspirational and emotional quality that is unique for symphonic arrangements and compositions. They’ve been a first choice for scoring numerous films, productions, and soundtracks for composers worldwide. All the Miroslav Philharmonik sounds can be opened by SampleTank 2.

The Miroslav Philharmonik Orchestra Workstation software combines the legendary Miroslav Orchestral and Choir sample collection masterpieces with a dedicated plug-in instrument specifically tailored toward classical sounds and arrangements.

Miroslav orchestral samples are some of the most playable and inspiring sounds ever produced for symphonic arrangements and composition. They’ve set the atmosphere of hundreds of movies and productions and have become the tool of choice for many Oscar winning composers.

This collection contains some of the most beautiful and lush sounding orchestral samples ever recorded, with plenty of feeling and emotion. Miroslav was able to bring out the rich character of symphonic music with a special sound that is unique and powerfully expressive.

For incredible acoustic realism, the string, brass, and woodwind sections have been captured in the proper acoustic orchestral positions inside one of the world’s most famous symphony halls, Prague’s Dvor k Symphony Hall. No need for simulation with panning, just call up the elements of the orchestra and instantly sound like a symphony. These sounds have a texture, warmth, and beauty that is unique in the sample world.

The Miroslav Philharmonik’s plug-in is based on an enhanced version of the SampleTank workstation architecture, offering 16 multitimbral parts, with full control over the tempo and pitch of the sounds. Each of the 16 multitimbral parts can be loaded by selecting one of more than 1,300 orchestral instruments included in Philharmonik. All of the instruments can be easily found in neatly organized folders within the browser window.

The multitimbral parts can also be saved as combi ensembles, allowing you to load an entire orchestral set with one click. Additionally, each part also offers up to 50 sound-shaping controls, for maximum flexibility over sound sculpture.

Miroslav Philharmonik also offers a master effects section with individual parts send capability. These can also be selected among the 20 built-in effects. Another unique feature is the inclusion of a high-quality master reverb in its list of 20 effects, with an easy-to-use version of IK’s Classik Studio Reverb. Perfect for obtaining that smooth orchestra sound, are the warmth of the analog EQ and compressors derived from IK’s award-winning T-RackS and AmpliTube.

Miroslav Philharmonik features a search function, full MIDI controls of the parameters, zone editing, multiple outputs, and more.

Get in touch with your inner Souza or create a unique sample for your latest hip-hop project with the Garritan Concert & Marching Band Sound Library. From flugelhorn soloists and flute groups to snare lines and the always recognizable police whistle, this Garritan collection even has rarer used instruments like the helicon and sarrusophone. The drumline and percussion samples include instruments from the Tapspace Virtual Drumline 2 library.
Using the included KONTAKT sample player and the ensemble building feature, band directors can quickly and easily arrange traditional marching band music to see how they’d sound with the size of their band, or recreate popular songs for a concert band environment. They can even synch them up with drill routine software to help their band give them a better feel for their positioning during a field show.
But this isn’t strictly for the classroom. Dance and pop music producers can also utilize these sounds, adding a unique old-school twist or flourish to today’s modern song structures.

The Vienna Instruments Special Keyboards sample library features 8GB worth of samples from 3 unique sounding keyboard-based instruments: the harpsichord, harmonium, and prepared piano. Utilizing a state-of-the-art recording process and the exclusive Vienna Instruments engine, this one-of-a-kind sound library will give composers and sound designers a m&eactute;lange of sounds both classic and eclectic, and anything but run-of-the-mill.

The bright, classic overtones of the harpsichord were recorded in Vienna’s own Silent Stage, where they captured single note and repetition performances on a two manual harpsichord, including 8′ register solo, 8′ double, and tutti (a combination of two 8′ registers and one 4′ register).

For more disharmonic overtones, check out their collection of harmonium sounds. For the uninitiated, The harmonium is a free-reed instrument, meaning that air streams past reeds of different lengths causing them to vibrate and creating an undulating like sound.

The prepared piano is perhaps the most intriguing of the three instruments. Basically a “no-rules” piano playing technique introduced in 1949 by John Cage, prepared piano can include a variety of objects like erasers, nails, paper, etc., randomly inserted between strings to fabricate unusual tones, harmonics, and percussive effects. Amongst the different approaches, the Vienna team treated a B”sendorfer grand piano with bare hands (e.g., glissandos over the strings) and with wood mallets in order to get a multitude of creative sounds and colors.

The Applied Acoustics Systems (AAS) String Studio is a software string modeling synthesizer that trades in the traditional oscillator, filter, and envelope pattern for real-life string instrument components. A cutting-edge string model interacting with picks, bows, hammers, fingers, frets, dampers, and soundboards is at the heart of String Studio. Through this direct approach, String Studio delivers stunning guitars, basses, harps, clavinets, bowed instruments, and percussion, as well as rich and animated tones that blend the warmth, naturalness, and density of real life with unique and innovative timbres from yet unheard instruments.

The Unmistakable Feeling of Playing a Real Instrument
Instead of relying on samples and wavetables, String Studio generates sound on the fly using an accurate model of the components and interactions involved in stringed instruments. This elaborate synthesis engine responds dynamically depending on your performance and how it is already vibrating, producing sound that is always unique to the moment. As a result of its nature, String Studio captures the richness and diversity of acoustic textures and reproduces the quirks, subtleties, and responsiveness of real instruments. This is the key to providing you with vibrant sound as well as the presence and expressivity of a real instrument.

Physical Ergonomics
The String Studio interface is conveniently laid out around components of a stringed instrument and the controls are directly related to their physical properties. With just a limited number of intuitive parameters, String Studio procures a remarkable range of sounds. Explore the extensive collection of warm and organic sounds included with String Studio or tweak and create exquisite textures simply not possible with other synthesizers.

Live Extras
Finally, String Studio offers premium performance features, including keyboard modes, portamento, vibrato, and legato functions, as well as a programmable pattern arpeggiator. For optimal controller integration, String Studio features a complete set of MIDI features; easy-to-use MIDI Learn function for user-defined MIDI maps, min/max parameter range settings, MIDI program change and automation. A high-quality effect rack, featuring distortion, chorus, delay, and reverb completes the package.

The Vienna Symphonic Library Woodwinds 1 includes flute 1, French oboe, clarinet, bassoon, flute ensemble (3 players), oboe ensemble (3 players), clarinet ensemble (3 players), and bassoon ensemble (3 players). The oboe is the French Oboe from the Horizon Series Library of the same name, and therefore also offers playing techniques with vibrato. Woodwinds I contains numerous new articulations when compared with the existing Pro Edition and Horizon Series Libraries. Solo instruments as well as ensembles now offer fast Interval Performances in legato and marcato styles, marcato Interval Performances in “normal” tempo, as well as Performance Trills. From the solo instruments, the flute and clarinet arpeggios (major, minor, and diminished broken chords in legato and staccato styles), the solo flute’s mordents, and the French oboe’s flutter tonguing particularly stand out. And the slow legato repetitions of the solo flute are especially appealing.

Since the beginning of the Vienna Symphonic Library, first-rate musicians have been providing the sound and character of these wind instruments as soloists and ensemble leaders. Gisela Mashayekhi-Beer was the solo flutist of the Zurich Opera orchestra and taught at the Bruckner University Linz and at the Vienna Music University. Markus Deuter was (and is) first oboist of numerous German orchestras; he came to Vienna especially for the recordings of the French oboe. The clarinetist Daniel Hörth, in spite of his youth, can look back at an international concert career with the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, and others, and Martin Machovits, among other assignments, is solo bassoon player at the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
